Blackberry Jam is a lovely book of poems, illustrated throughout in full color by the author. Parents will enjoy reading these poems to their children ("Shuffle, Shuffle" stands out as a wonderful read-aloud poem, about autumn leaves and the arrival of winter), and children will also enjoy these on their own or in the classroom.
Author Shannon McKinney is a retired teacher from southern Indiana, and her work shines with a genuine love and care for children of all ages. Families in the heartland--and everywhere--will appreciate the lessons found here.
