I have not ordered this product yet but I am anxious to purchase it. All the product sellers MUST inform the buyers about whether or not their product INCLUDES THE CD with the book. The CD has some very rare interviews and performances- including the only known recording of Kenny Dorham playing and singing "Fair Weather". That's the main reason I am purchasing this product and I don't want to purchase the book without the CD. Marianne

Ms. Ivy Newton-Gamble graciously captured many of the sweet recipes from the beautiful continent of Africa in her book entitled: "The Sweet Taste of Africa". She presented these recipes in such a way that made them very easy to understand and follow. In fact, she presented the sweet pastries, beverages, and preserves from Africa in an ideal way for you to enjoy without ever being in Africa. Ms. Gamble was also extraordinarily delightful in her presentation of the countries from which she shared their recipes. I thoroughly enjoyed reading through these mouthwatering recipes and it was indeed a sweet culinary voyage. I owe her a great debt of gratitude.

Feasting Galore Irish-Style: Recipes and Food Lore from the Emerald Isle (Better Homes & Gardens) Review

I bought this book for a friend, so I haven't tested any of the recipes. The stories that precede each section are charming, making this book a delight whether you ever cook out of it or not. That said, I do appreciate more pictures in a cook book than this one has.

Hippocrene Books is pleased to bring this classic cookbook, which was originally published in 1952, back into print for today's readers.Author Maura Laverty, a leading Irish playwright, novelist and culinary writer, beckons readers through the door of the traditional Irish kitchen, to the heart of the family's life. Each of the eleven chapters begins with an engaging anecdote that puts the food into its context-- whether it is prepared to celebrate an occasion, to welcome friends, or even to seduce! With simple ingredients and easy-to-follow instructions, these recipes will help the home chef create a rich, plentiful Irish feast.Among the 200 recipes are classics like "Irish Stew" and "Mince Pie," which Oliver Cromwell unsuccessfully attempted to ban because of its then-religious shape.Feasting Galore also features holiday specialties such as "Christmas Pudding" and Halloween delicacies, "Boxty," "Barmbrack," and "Colcannon," which contain paper-wrapped charms that foretell the future. And of course, no Irish cookbook would be complete without beverages-- Laverty offers a chapter entitled "Slainte" (Good Health), which includes homemade wines, liquers, and the perfect recipe for the famed "Gaelic Coffee."

All Music Guide Required Listening Series: Old School Rap (All Music Guide Required Listening Old School Rap and Hip-Hop) Review

All Music Guide Required Listening Series: Old School Rap (All Music Guide Required Listening Old School Rap and Hip-Hop)

All Music Guide is one of the go to places for ratings and reviews of albums and this compilation of old school hip-hop is no exception. While they don't dole out a one to five star rating as they do on their website, AMG selected a nice cross section of the genre from heavyweight acts like The Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube, Public Enemy & A Tribe Called Quest to lesser known ones like Main Source & The Jungle Brothers. They also sprinkle artists who obtained some mass appeal like Kriss Kross who aren't exactly thought of a old school hip hop. There is also a section on soul & jazz artists whose music is notably and heavily sampled.

Crazy Drama Review

Crazy Drama
Average Reviews:

As CRAZY DRAMA opens, the Phat Five is making plans for Jam Fest 2003, which is the equivalent of Atlanta's Freak Nik. The Phat Five consist of long-time friends, Teddy Henderson, Ajani Bethel, Eros Alexander, Kellan "KJ" Brar and Damon "Q" Quintino. Teddy accepted a position with the committee to form this year's Jam Fest and his friends are counting on him to provide the place to stay and tickets for the event. Unbeknownst to them, he has resigned his position from the committee and has given his life to Christ. He is uncomfortable with breaking the news to his boys and not looking forward to what the weekend, with the rowdy crew, will bring.
KJ is competing in the hip-hop showcase against former partner, Roderick who was the previous year's winner at Jam Fest. Roderick has released his first album with the label that offered him a contract, as a result of the contest, and he's ready to compete again in this year's competition. There's a bitter rivalry between KJ and Roderick because Roderick never recognized KJ as his ghostwriter and also betrayed him by taking his girlfriend. Ajani is obsessed with making money and leads an undercover life as a drug dealer. Keeping the secret from his girlfriend and young son is wearing on him. When he discovers a rival is framing him, his life spirals out of control.
Q, whose pro-basketball career has been derailed because of a knee injury, is overcompensating by working an excessive amount of hours to maintain an attractive income. His long hours are causing his new bride a lot of loneliness and frustration. She is really miffed when he decides to go to Jam Fest on one of the few weekends he did not have to work. Eros is trying to live up to the legend created by his porn-producing father - the more women he has, the happier he is. Jam Fest is just the platform for him to fulfill his fantasies. The drama gets really crazy when this group is united for the weekend.
I enjoyed D. A. Bourne `s debut novel, CRAZY DRAMA. It took a moment to get familiar with his Canadian vernacular but once I did, the story flowed. Bourne did an excellent job balancing and developing so many characters. He tells a highly dramatic, action-packed and suspenseful tale without explicit sex scenes and foul language. His style can appeal to lovers of street fiction, as well as Christian fiction which is a good balance that can be hard to capture. CRAZY DRAMA is one not to miss.

The Time Place Review

The Time Place
Average Reviews:

The Time Place is the authors first stab at a novel, I should know because I am his son. I believe for a first attemt he did a good job. As many who will read the book find out, it has its flaws, however the story is unlike any book out there. If your looking for depth, detail, or a hard read, look else where, if your looking for a fun read about something so far fetched it makes you wonder what was the author thinking writing a book like this, its surely for you.

My copy is spattered with ingredients from front to back. There is not a loser recipe in the bunch. Illustrations scattered throughout inspire you to try new and old favorites. The recipe format is easy to read and directions are clear and simple. I especially like that there are international recipes included. The Italian wine cookies, the cinnamon bars and Kentucky bourbon bars are always on my Christmas cookie platter. I have many cookbooks and Christmas magazines with recipes but I could chuck them all in favor of this one little gem of a cookbook.
