In addition, I have seen the author's selection of shirts and he is veritable expert with an incredible collection of his own: He knows what he is talking about when it comes to vintage Hawaiian shirts. This is well researched and easy to use for the novice or serious collector. Buy it!

This is a practical guide to identifying, buying and selling older Hawaiian shirts, primarily those made from the 1930's to the Mid 1960's. It includes color photos of 385 shirt manufacturer's labels, arranged alphabetically and chronologically. This book "dates" labels and makes the information easy to find quickly. It acknowledges that some sellers can't -- or don't want to -- tell the difference between a shirt made in the 1940's and one made in the 2000's. After reading this book, you will be in a position to avoid falling victim to such sellers. The book also covers inconsistent sizing in Hawaiian shirts, the decision whether to wear or invest, using the Internet when shirt hunting, inspecting and measuring shirts, and more.
